Laatst bewerkt door HH678856 op 2026-8-18 19:07 I am very happy with the cleaning performance of my MOVA V70 Ultra on the ground floor, where its base station is located. Unfortunately, mopping the second floor without a base station is unreliable.
I created a separate map for the upper floor. I select that map, carry the robot upstairs, place it at a fixed starting position, and begin cleaning. It recognises the map and initially navigates correctly.
After cleaning only a small area, sometimes just the edge of one room, it announces “Returning to wash” and starts driving through the rooms looking for the base station. Of course, there is no station on that floor.
This is very different from its behaviour downstairs. On the ground floor, it cleans for a considerable amount of time before washing its mop pads. Upstairs, it sometimes wants to wash them almost immediately, even though the upper floor is certainly not dirtier.
I tested every available washing-frequency option:
After each room;
Every 20 minutes;
Every 20 square metres.
It makes no difference. Upstairs, the robot still requests washing long before it reaches the configured interval.
I then disabled “Automatic washing” completely before starting a new task. The app describes this setting as follows: when enabled, the robot returns to the base station during a cleaning task to wash the mop pads.
Even with this setting disabled, the robot still announced “Returning to wash” and started searching for the station.
The app also has a separate setting called “Smart mop washing,” but its description says that it only adjusts the washing duration, water volume, and temperature based on the environment. In other words, it controls how the pads are washed once the robot is at the station,not whether the robot should return to the station.
This therefore looks like a firmware or task-state problem rather than a configuration mistake. Possible causes include:
- The robot ignores the disabled Automatic Washing setting.
- The washing timer or cleaned-area counter is not reset after changing floor maps.
- The robot fails to recognise that the active map has no base station.
- A station-return command is incorrectly triggered after manually moving the robot to another floor.
The expected behaviour seems straightforward:
1. Recognise that the active floor map has no base station.
2. Apply the configured room, time, or area washing frequency correctly.
3. When washing is required, return to the original starting position.
4. Pause and notify the user to carry the robot to the station.
5. After washing, allow the user to return it upstairs and resume the task.
Save mop-washing behaviour separately for each floor map.
This appears to be primarily a software workflow improvement. The robot already knows which map is active, where it started, whether a station is present, and how to resume an interrupted task. Instead of searching for a nonexistent dock, it should return to the known starting position and request assistance.
Has anyone else experienced this on the V70 Ultra? Does your robot also ignore the disabled Automatic Washing setting on a secondary floor? Has MOVA confirmed whether it plans a firmware fix? VertalenOorspronkelijke tekst bekijken
